Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has sworn in three new commissioners and a member of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), urging them to uphold accountability and responsibility in the discharge of their duties.
The oath of office and allegiance was administered on Wednesday at the Council Chambers of the Government House, Yola, following the confirmation of their nominations by the State House of Assembly on March 9, 2026.
The newly inaugurated commissioners are Sali Idris (Maiha LGA), Engr. Muhammed Suleiman (Mubi North LGA), and Chubado Mohammed (Jada LGA). Also sworn in was Mr. Iliya Gaji as a member of ADSIEC.
While congratulating the appointees, Governor Fintiri charged them to demonstrate integrity, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility in their respective offices.
He noted that their selection was based on merit, proven integrity, and commitment to service, expressing confidence in their ability to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.
The governor further urged the new commissioners to introduce fresh ideas, embrace innovative thinking, and work collaboratively with other members of the executive council, in line with his administration’s vision of inclusive governance and sustainable development.
Governor Fintiri also announced the portfolios of the commissioners: Sali Idris, Ministry of Livestock; Engr. Suleiman Mohammed, Ministry of Works; and Chubado Mohammed, Ministry of Energy.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, the Commissioner for Energy, Chubado Mohammed, thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve and assured him of their loyalty and commitment to advancing the administration’s agenda.
The oath of office and allegiance was administered by the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Afaimu Jingi.
In a related development, the new Commissioner for Works, Engr. Suleiman Mohammed, pledged to deploy his wealth of experience as a technocrat to support the urban renewal drive of the Fintiri-led administration.
He expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve and called on stakeholders to support and cooperate with him in the discharge of his responsibilities as a cabinet member.
