By Mustapha Salisu

Fityanul Islam of Nigeria (FIN) has issued a statement urging an immediate halt to the ongoing nationwide protests, now in their ninth day, and calling on the Muslim Ummah to engage in sincere prayers as a means of overcoming the country’s current challenges.

In a press release from the FIN National Headquarters, the organization expressed deep regret over the widespread violence and destruction of life and property that have accompanied the protests. They commiserated with the families who lost loved ones, offering prayers that such incidents never occur again in Nigeria.

The statement, signed by FIN President Sheikh (Dr.) Muhammad Arabi Abulfathi and DG Media & Publicity Ustaz Sani Ibn Salihu, reiterated the group’s belief that prayer is the most effective way to restore peace.

They called on all Muslims in Nigeria to join FIN members in the ongoing Intercessory Recitation of the Qur’an, with the goal of surpassing the million recitations previously advocated. This initiative will continue uninterrupted until complete peace is restored in the country.

Fityanul Islam also urged the government at all levels to reconsider and abandon policies that have led to widespread hardship. They emphasized that this is the time for people-friendly policies and called on authorities to facilitate nationwide prayers for Nigeria’s recovery, viewing this as a time-tested and trusted approach to overcoming trials and tribulations.

The organization expressed faith in Allah’s promise of relief after hardship and vowed to continue praying for divine intervention in Nigeria’s challenges.
