Former US Chaplain, Estes commissions Radio, TV in Kano

The former United States Chaplain, Sheikh Yusuf Estes has commissioned a newly floated Radio and Television station in Kano.
Estes, an American Islamic preacher and chaplain from Texas, converted from Christianity to Islam in 1991 was in Nigeria to officially commission the stations in company of others.
While identifying Radio as one sole media entity that promotes unity and developmental ties, he called on the management and entire Staff members to as much as possible propagate the course of Islam in their programming.
He was assisted by among other visitors, notably the Secretary General, Albasar International Foundation, Sheikh Dr. Adel Abdulaziz Alrashoud and the Board member, Albasar International Turkey, Sheikh Jamaan Ali Alzahrani.
The twin stations, Hikima Radio and Television RTV were founded by the former House member representing Kano municipal and a governorship candidate in the 2023 General Elections in Kano, Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada.
Veteran and professional journalists appointed to drive the affairs of the stations are Usman Usman as Managing Director and Abubakar Isah Dandago as General Manager.
Speaking shortly after the commissioning, the Managing Director pledged that the station is set on the path of progression as it promises to do things differently to stand out among its contemporaries.
