Fresh FUG kidnap: Troops rescue all abducted students
From Ibrahim Kaulahi, Gusau
The troops of the Operation Hadarin Daji and Metro Joint Patrol (Eagle Eye) have rescued all the four kidnapped students of the Federal University Gusau who were abducted last Saturday at Sabon Garin Damba Area, Gusau, Zamfara State.
In a statement by the Information Officer of the University, Malam Umar Usman, said the fresh incident took place at about 08:00pm where 4 students were abducted at their rented apartment at an outskirt of Damba, an area close to Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.
It further informed that, two out of the four kidnapped students escaped after they were abducted while the remaining two were rescued after a heavy gun duel between the troops and the bandits.
According to the Information Officer, the University Management wished to urge students to either relocate to Sabon Gida which is now well secured with armed security operatives or stay within Gusau metropolis. This is because they are more vulnerable to bandit attacks when living at the outskirts especially, Damba area.
It would be recalled, bandits invaded and kidnapped scores of female students at Sabon Gida and took them to their yet to be identified enclave in the bush.
