Plateau State Government has has adopted recommendations in respect in respect to employments in the state civil service.
Musa Ashoms, the state Commissioner of Information and Communication, in a statement Recalled “that the Government of Plateau state set up committees and panels to make appropriate recommendations in respect to employments in the Plateau state civil service”
According to Ashoms, the draft white paper standing Committee came up with recommendations which the Plateau state Executive Council has adopted.
The statement emphasized that by this declaration, the staff of some Ministries, Departments and Agencies are expected to resume work immediately while government makes effort to clear the arrears of their salaries and other benefits.
He said the MDAs are Ministry of Mineral Development, Judicial Service Commission, committee upholds the exercise as the Commission enjoys autonomy, Office of the Deputy Governor, Ministry of Water Resources and Energy, as well as the Plateau state Solid Minerals Development Agency.
Ashoms explained that 42 MDAs will undergo proper scrutiny to review and ensure that capable hands are given requisite responsibilities.
He said they are Ministry of Lands, Survey, and Town Planning, Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Youths and Sports Development, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Hospitality, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Information and Communication.
They include Ministry of Science and Technology and Innovation, Ministry of Works, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ministry of Women Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Budget, Ministry of Urban and Physical Planning, Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Education (Secondary).
Others are Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Transport,Hospitals Management Board, Plateau State Specialist Hospital, Plateau Agricultural Development Programme, Plateau State Contributory Health Insurance Management Agency, Plateau State Energy Corporation, Plateau State Primary Health Care Board, Plateau State Sports Council, Road Maintenance Agency, Plateau State Information, Communication Development Agency, Office of the Auditor General, Plateau State.
Others are “Office of the Accountant General, Office of the Head of Civil Service, Civil Service Commission, Plateau State University, Bokkos, College of Education, Gindiri, College of Agriculture, Garkawa. College of Arts, Remedial Sciences and Technology, Kurgwi. Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi, College of Health Technology, Pankshin. College of Health Technology, Zawan. College of Nursing and Midwifery, Vom”
“Government rejects and outrightly cancels the following employments. Disability Rights Commission, Plateau State Water and Sanitation Agency, Relevant Technology Board, Jos Metropolitan Development Board, Office of the Auditor General Local Government, Government House Administration and Bureau of Statistics”
“Government directs that in reviewing or carrying out fresh employment exercise, competence, capacity, capability and State Character Principle must reflect even spread across the 17 LGAs that make up Plateau state, and consideration shall be given to ad hoc or casual staff in those MDA’s or Institutions”
It however said that “The Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission, however frowns at the involvement of Civil Service Commission in its employment and directs review to reflect even spread”
