FUDMA to establish study centres in Kano North
The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, is facilitating the establishment of four study centers in Kano North Senatorial District by the Federal University, Dutsin-ma, Katsina State.
This is a sequel to the request of Senator Barau during a courtesy call by the management of the University led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi, in Abuja on Wednesday.
This is contained in a statement on Thursday signed by Ismail Mudashir, Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate on Media and Publicity.
According to the statement, the study centers will be located in the local government areas of Gwarzo, Danbatta, Dawakin Tofa, and Gabasawa within the Kano North Senatorial District.
“Once established, the study centers will offer degree and diploma programs from the university, aiming to enhance education in the senatorial district and its surrounding areas,” the statement added.
Speaking during the meeting, the Deputy President of the Senate said he requested the establishment of the four centres to take university education to the doorsteps of his constituents.
He said all the necessary facilities would be provided at the four centres for them to function well.
“I made the request in line with my vision to ensure that all constituents of school age receive education. This move will bring university education closer to my constituents, and necessary equipment will be provided at the centers,” he stated.
The Deputy President additionally extended scholarships to one hundred students from each of the four benefiting local governments, enabling them to pursue degree programs at the study centers.
He reiterated his commitment to continue to work towards the improvement of the standard of living for the people of Kano North and its environs.
