Ganduje Woos Gov.Yusuf, Others To APC

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC),Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje,has formally invited Kano State Governor,Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party(NNPP), and his aides,to join the APC.

Ganduje gave the invitation shortly after an expanded stakeholders’ meeting of the APC in the state held in Kano on Thursday.

“We, stakeholders of the APC in Kano State have resolved to invite the Governor of Kano State,his officials and his party, the NNPP, to join our great party,the APC.

“Our party’s doors are wide open to receive you and all other members of the NNPP into the APC and we are creating an enabling environment for you to join our party,”he said.

He disclosed that many Senators and members of the House of Representatives had joined the party, and that very soon, some Governors would also join, asking,”so,if we can do it at national level,why can’t we do it at state level.”

The Chairman also revealed that very soon,the party would embark on electronic registration of members and that they had resolved that Kano State should produce the highest number of members during the exercise.

He said the APC leadership is also talking with smaller parties in the state with a view to enabling them to join the party.

The Chairman said the objective of the APC was to make Kano a one-party state with the APC as the only party in the state.

He said since the state is the most populous,it should produce the highest number of registered members of the APC in the country.

He said Kano also has 44 elected Local Government Chairmen and 40 members of the State House of Assembly, among others

Those who attended the expanded stakeholders’ meeting included the Deputy President of the Senate,Barau Jibrin,the Minister of State,Housing and Urban Development,Abdullahi Mohammed Gwarzo,the Chief of Staff to the APC National Chairman,Malam Muhammad Garba,and the Kano State APC Chairman,Abdullahi Abbas.
