By Abdullahi Yusuf
Former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a day after he dumped his former party, the All Progressives Congress(APC).
Gawuna registered with the party and received his membership card at his Gawuna Ward in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday.
He was accompanied for the exercise by the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement and presidential candidate of the NNPP in the 2023 general elections, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who himself officially registered as member of the ADC on Monday.
The registration exercise attracted hundreds of supporters of the former Deputy Governor who cheered him as he registered for the ADC membership.
Gawuna was the APC governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections and was defeated by Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, then of the NNPP.
Interestingly, Governor Yusuf now flies the APC flag following his recent defection from the NNPP, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
