German Energy Team Explores Partnership with Nigerian Ministry of Housing

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa today welcomed a high-level delegation from GIZ (German International Corporation) a global leader in energy efficiency solutions.

The delegation, led by Mr. Marcus Wagner, engaged in strategic discussions with the Minister to explore potential collaborations aimed at enhancing energy efficiency in Nigeria’s housing sector.

Dangiwa, joined by the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Shuaibu Belgore, in a productive meeting focused on sustainable urban development.

Mr. Marcus Wagner expressed GIZ’s enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are committed to working closely with the Nigerian government to implement energy-saving solutions in urban housing projects.

A statement signed by Adamu Aminu, Special Assistant on Media to Minister of State for Housing said the collaboration aligns with the mission to promote sustainable development worldwide.

In his response, Minister Dangiwa commended GIZ for its initiative and underscored the critical role of energy efficiency in modern housing.

“Sustainable energy practices are no longer optional—they are essential for Nigeria’s growth. We are eager to collaborate with GIZ to harness innovative solutions that will benefit our nation’s urban development,” he said.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further cooperation, reinforcing Nigeria’s dedication to adopting cutting-edge, energy-efficient technologies in housing and infrastructure.
