Gezawa Old Girls Association (GEZOGA) Class 1994, Holds 1st AGM,Swears In New Executives

The Gezawa Old Girls Association (GEZOGA), Class of 1994, has held its 1st Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, 31st December 2025, at the NUJ Secretariat, Farm Center, Kano.

A statement by the association’s
Director Administration,Hadiza Isyaku, said the event marked a historic milestone in the association’s collective journey.

“The well-attended meeting brought together members of the association, esteemed former teachers, and members of the media, reflecting the strong bonds of sisterhood, mentorship, and shared purpose that define GEZOGA,”Hadiza said.

She said a major highlight of the AGM was the swearing-in of the newly elected executive officers, who would steer the affairs of the association for the new tenure.

According to her,the oath of office was administered by Barrister Adam Muhammad Fagge in the presence of members and former teachers, “underscoring the transparency, credibility, and institutional values guiding the association.”

The Director gave the names of the newly- sworn-in executives as Bilki salihi Ahmad (Executive director),Aishatu Usman laluwa(assistant Executive director),Hadiza Isyaku (Director Admin),Halima Muhammad Yola (Assistant director admin),Khadijah Sunusi Bashir (Director Human resources),Lami Umar(Assistant director human resources),Aishatu Abdullahi (community mobilizer),and Maryam Muhammad (Assistant community mobilizer).

Others were,Jummai Bala (Director finance),Hadiza Idris Chiroma(Assistant director finance),Rabi Datti Ahmad (cashier),Gaji Ahmad (Assistant cashier),Hadiza Ahmad Tukur(Director welfare),Rahila Hamza (Assistant director welfare),Hassana Ahmad (Auditor),and
Aishatu Ado Garba(Assistant Auditor).

In her remarks at the occasion, the Executive Director,Bilkisu Ahmad,expressed profound appreciation to members for their confidence and commitment.

Bilkisu paid special tribute to their former teachers whose guidance she said, continues to inspire excellence, service and unity among the old girls.

Also in her address,the Director Human Resources, Khadijah Sunusi Bashir, extended gratitude to journalists present for their support and continued partnership with the NUJ in disseminating GEZOGA’s vision and activities.

The 1st AGM concluded on a note of optimism, renewed commitment, and a shared resolve to strengthen collaboration, community impact, and sustainable growth for the association.

The Gezawa Old Girls Association (GEZOGA), Class of 1994, is a non-profit alumni body committed to fostering unity, supporting educational development, and contributing meaningfully to the society through collective action and shared values.
