From Rabilu Abubakar Gombe

The Gombe State Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project has conducted a sensitization engagement with grassroots stakeholders across the eleven Local Government Areas of the state on the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) initiative.

The engagement brought together traditional rulers, community leaders, members of School-Based Management Committees, Education Secretaries, principals, Quality Assurance Officers, Local Government Information Officers, as well as first cohort beneficiaries and their caregivers.

Speaking at the event, the State Project Coordinator, Dr. Amina Haruna Abdul, said the sensitization meeting was organized to highlight the critical roles of stakeholders in ensuring the success of the CCT scheme within their communities.

She also informed participants about the ongoing enrollment of the second cohort of beneficiaries and appealed for more awareness campaigns at the community level to ensure wider participation in the program.

Presentations on the requirements for CCT eligibility were delivered by the Component Lead, Buhari Muhammad Jika.

Additionally, the Social Norms and Communication Officers, Aishatu Yuguda Umar and Saidu Bappa Malala, made separate presentations on the roles of traditional and community leaders in promoting AGILE’s objectives and the successful implementation of the CCT scheme.

Participants asked questions, shared contributions, and commended the project as a well-structured and inclusive initiative.

They also pledged their continued support for its successful implementation across the state.
