Gombe Specialist Hospital Refutes Accusations of Water Shortage

The Gombe State Specialist Hospital has categorically denied allegations that it lacks water and electricity. In an interview with our correspondent, the hospital’s director, Dr. Mu’azu Shu’aibu Ishaqa, dismissed the claims, stating that the hospital has a functional borehole powered by solar energy, ensuring a steady water supply.
Dr. Ishaqa acknowledged a recent issue with the national grid, which affected the entire North East region and led to drinking water challenges in the state. However, he emphasized that the hospital’s water supply remained unaffected due to its solar-powered borehole.
The director appealed to politicians to refrain from politicizing the hospital, which is designed to serve the community regardless of political affiliation or religion. He urged the politician who made the false accusations on a radio station to retract their statements, describing them as “disgraceful.”
Dr. Ishaqa highlighted the hospital’s recent upgrades, including reconstruction, new equipment, and professional staff. He noted that the hospital has made significant progress since its establishment in 1958, with more doctors and medicines available than ever before.
The hospital’s management assures the public of its commitment to providing quality healthcare services, unfettered by political influences.
