Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has revealed plans to construct a beach resort along the Araromi coastline as part of efforts to boost tourism in the state.
The governor made this known during the Araromi Seaside Carnival held on Monday in Ondo State.
He disclosed that preliminary work on the project, including land measurements and architectural designs, has been completed, with construction expected to commence later this year.
According to Aiyedatiwa, the project is designed to attract private investors and unlock the economic potential of the largely underutilised coastline. He added that about ten investors are being targeted, noting that early private sector involvement has already led to improvements in basic facilities.
The governor further stated that the resort is projected to be operational within one year.
He also assured investors of government support, security, and improved infrastructure, citing the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway as a strategic advantage.
If completed, the project is expected to drive tourism, create jobs, and strengthen the state’s economy, while positioning Araromi as a competitive coastal destination.
