Gov. Buni Approves Appointment of Isma’ila Gadaka as New Emir of Gudi

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has approved the appointment of Hon. Isma’ila Ahmed Gadaka as the new Emir (Mai) of Gudi Emirate.
The approval was announced in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Mallam Wali, and made available to journalists in Damaturu by his Press Secretary, Shuaibu Abdullahi.
The appointment follows the death of the late Emir, Alhaji Isa Bunuwa Madugu Ibn Kaji, after a protracted illness.
According to the statement, before his appointment, His Royal Highness Hon. Alhaji Isma’ila Ahmed Gadaka represented Fika/Fune Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2019.
“He served as Yobe State Commissioner from 2007 to 2010. He is currently the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal College of Education, Yawuri, Kebbi State, a position he has held since 2024.
“He also chairs the Local Government Project Monitoring and Evaluation Committee, also from 2024 to date. A banker by profession, he previously worked with UBA and Standard Trust Bank, where he rose to the position of Business Manager.
“Until his appointment on Saturday, he held the traditional title of Yariman Gudi,” the statement added.
