From Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu

As part of his commitment to the welfare of Yobe State residents, Governor Mai Mala Buni has donated food items to inmates across correctional facilities in the state as Ramadan palliatives for Iftar during the holy month.

In a press statement issued by Alhassan Sule Mamudo, Chief Information Officer of the Ministry of Justice, the Executive Secretary of the Advisory Council on the Prerogative of Mercy, Barr. Ali Adam Musa, presented the items on behalf of the state government. He noted that, in addition to the food donation, the council has organized counseling sessions and religious lectures for the inmates throughout Ramadan.

Barr. Musa commended the state government’s continued support for inmates, stating that this was not the first time such a gesture had been extended to correctional facilities across the state.

He urged the inmates to use the holy month as an opportunity for self-reflection and repentance, emphasizing that “Allah loves those who seek forgiveness and follow the path of righteousness.”

The donated items included assorted bags of rice, sugar, vegetable oil, Maggi, and other essential foodstuffs.
