Gov Buni Leads Delegation to Emir of Gudi’s Funeral

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, on Friday led a high-powered government delegation to attend the funeral of the late Emir of Gudi, Alhaji Isa Bunuwa Madugu Ibn Khaji, who passed away on Thursday in an Abuja hospital after a protracted illness.

In a statement signed by Mamman Mohammad, Director-General of Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Buni, who was on an official assignment in Abuja, cut short his engagements to personally honour the late Emir.

The governor was accompanied by the Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Hon. Chiroma Buba Mashio, Senators Mohammed Bomoi and Musa Mustapha, members of the House of Representatives, the Secretary to the State Government Baba Malam Wali, state assembly members, commissioners, special advisers, local government chairmen, traditional rulers, clerics, party stalwarts and thousands of sympathizers.

Governor Buni prayed for Allah’s forgiveness and mercy on the late Emir and urged the people to remain upright and live in peace with one another.

“Everyone will die; when, where and how is known only to Almighty Allah,” he said, reminding the people that “the fall of the yellow leaf is a warning to the green ones.”

He described the death of the royal father as a monumental loss to his family, the Gudi Emirate, Yobe State and the entire nation.
