Gov. Buni Okays N708 Million Payout to 461 Retirees in Yobe State

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has granted approval for the disbursement of N708 million, earmarked for retirement benefits to 461 retirees across the state.

The approval follows the successful screening of the third batch of pensioners in the state’s 17 local government councils.

In a statement by Mamman Mohammed, DG Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, it was confirmed that the payment would be directly made to the retirees, with next of kin receiving payments on behalf of deceased pensioners.

Governor Buni emphasized that this payment would significantly contribute to the retirees’ livelihood, supporting them as they embark on their life in retirement.

The statement also recalled that in November of the previous year, Governor Buni had approved an upward revision of the monthly standing payment of gratuities from N100 million to N200 million.

The Governor stated that this adjustment aimed at accommodating more beneficiaries each month and ensuring the prompt disbursement of benefits to retired workers, ultimately aiding their lives in retirement.
