Gov. Buni Provides Financial Support to Families of Fallen, Injured Vigilantes

Yobe State Government has disbursed financial assistance to the families of vigilante members who lost their lives or sustained injuries in the line of duty.
The disbursement, carried out by the Director of Cabinet and Special Services, Muhammad Alhaji Baba, on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government, was in line with Governor Mai Mala Buni’s directives.
The initiative is part of the state’s routine welfare program for frontline security operatives,ensuring that families of affected vigilantes receive support.
Under the scheme, each family of a deceased vigilante received ₦500,000, while those injured were granted ₦200,000 each.
Speaking during the disbursement,the Director reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to collaborating with all security stakeholders, including vigilante groups, to maintain the peace and stability achieved in Yobe State.
He extended condolences to the bereaved families and praised the bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of vigilante members in safeguarding the state.
“Your courage has not gone unnoticed, and your welfare remains a top priority for this administration,” he assured.
The financial support is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen community security structures and provide relief to those affected in the fight against insurgency.
