Gov. Mutfwang congratulates Grace Akwe on Election as NAWOJ Chairperson

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, has congratulated Grace Akwe Gotip of the NTA Chapel on her emergence as Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Plateau State Chapter.

Grace Gotip was elected unopposed, alongside other members of the Executive Council, to steer the affairs of the association for a three-year term.

In a congratulatory message signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere said Governor Mutfwang described the election of Grace Gotip and her team as a significant step toward amplifying the voice of women and advancing gender inclusiveness in public discourse.

He noted that their emergence aligns with his administration’s commitment to empowering women to actively contribute to the growth and development of Nigerian society.

The Governor expressed confidence that the newly elected executives will bring renewed vigor and insight to the campaign against gender-based violence and other societal challenges that threaten the dignity and well-being of women.

He commended Grace Gotip for her visionary leadership, resilience, and steadfast commitment to justice and equity. He further urged the entire Executive Council to uphold the core values of integrity, inclusion, and excellence in their professional engagements, particularly in their reportage, to help foster a safer and healthier society.

The newly elected NAWOJ Plateau Chapter Executive Council includes:

Vice Chairperson: Yvonne Ishola (Plateau Publishing Corporation) Secretary, Mwuese Praise Adem (Highland FM) Assistant Secretary: Esther Andrew (State Information Chapel)

Others are Treasurer: Jembyen Zitta (PRTVC Chapel)
Financial Secretary, Patience Aliyu (News Agency of Nigeria) and Auditor, Asil Abel (Correspondents Chapel)

The statement also said on behalf of the government and the peace-loving people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected officers and prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and grace as they embark on this noble assignment.
