Gov. Mutfwang mourns former president Muhammadu Buhari

…Extends condolences to his family, President Tinubu and the Nation

From Tongnaan Bawa, Jos

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, has received with profound sorrow the news of the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died in a London hospital after a prolonged illness.

In a heartfelt condolence message by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, Governor Mutfwang described the death of the former President as a monumental loss, not only to his immediate family, the people of Katsina State, and the nation but to the African continent and the global community at large.

Governor Mutfwang reflected on the late statesman’s enduring legacy, recalling his role in shaping Nigeria’s diplomatic engagements during his tenure as Military Head of State from January 1984 to August 1985, and his service as democratically elected President from 2015 to 2023.

According to the Governor, the demise of the former President at this critical juncture in Nigeria’s democratic journey has deprived the nation of his wealth of wisdom in pursuit of peace, unity, and stability.

While acknowledging the depth of grief that words cannot fully soothe, Governor Mutfwang urged the bereaved family to find comfort in the late President’s enduring legacies.

On behalf of his family, the government, and the peace-loving people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang extended heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the late President, the government and people of Katsina State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Council of Former Heads of State.

He prayed that God Almighty will grant the nation strength and comfort in this moment of national grief and inspire all to uphold the noble virtues the late President stood for.
