Gov. Mutfwang salutes Tinubu, Supreme Court over judgment, Assures of dividends of democracy

Plateau State governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has commended the neutrality of President Bola Tinubu for not intruding into the affairs of the Judiciary, and the courage of the Justices of the Supreme Court during his time in the courts, saying their actions have left an indelible mark on the hearts of the people of Plateau State.

Governor Mutfwang, was on Saturday received by a mammoth crowd at the Yakubu Gowon Airport, Heipang, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the State to a grand reception at the Langfield resort in Jos.

Mutfwang while addressing the people acknowledged that power comes from God and called on the people to unite and give him maximum support to deliver good governance in the state.

He said, “God is the giver of power; we know no one but we know God, and he looked at us with mercy and gave us victory. Thank you, God; thank you, Plateau people; thank you, Mr. President; thank you, Supreme Court, for doing the right thing.

This is the gathering of Plateau people; it is beyond PDP… We have always believed in the judiciary as an institution; our respect and belief in justice were restored… What the people of Plateau, Nigerians, have done has spurred me, and I will continue to live for the interest of Plateau and ends poverty, illiteracy, have good educational structure and overall, bring good governance to the people.”

He assured that by the grace of God, Plateau will be great beyond expectation.

Also speaking, the Speaker of the State Assembly, Gabriel Dewan, assured the Governor of the support of the Legislature arm of government and called for unity among the people so that the development of the state could be achieved.

Dewan who described himself has a unifier of the people expressed confidence in the governor, referred to him as a man who fears God and is optimistic that the Mutfwang will not discriminate in any.

Former Governor Jonah Jang, the State Chairman of PDP, Chris Hassan, former Minority Leader Simon of the Senate at the National Assembly Mwadkwon, the State ALGON Chairman, Hamisu Anani, an elder statesman, Amb. Yahaya Kwande, and Hajiya Jamila Gwandu all called for unity among citizens for the development of the State.

Jang said, “I only give glory to God for this victory. If there is any party without structure in Plateau State, it is the APC people who walked out during their congress, and the former governor announced the APC flag bearers.

Their state chairman didn’t buy the form, but that was not our business. Governor Mutfwang is a man with a lion’s heart; he is a God-given governor.

“Plateau people prayed, Nigerians prayed, people around the world prayed, and God answered the people’s prayers and touched the hearts of the Justices of the Supreme Courts of Nigeria, and they brought the truth out… Mutfwang should forgive, but when you see any wrong done to the Plateau people, look into it according to the law. Now is the time for governance. I challenge you to work and surpass my record.”

Hassan added, “The journey had been tortuous, but the Lord saw us through. Plateau people didn’t make a mistake. I’m voting for Governor, and Mutfwang the PDP. I assure you that the PDP is well structured, and we will support the governor to deliver on the dividends of democracy.

Our correspondent reports that the crowd of people on the major roads were and the venue of the reception venue was very unprecedented.

Highlights of the event were cultural dances, encomiums from party stalwarts, and present were also PDP Legislatures that lost their political seats at the National and State Assembly, state Executives, the Judiciary members, Traditional institutions and religion leaders.
