Gov. Mutfwang swears in 5 New Commissioners, inaugurate education governing councils

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has sworn in 5 newly appointed commissioners and inaugurated the governing council of tertiary institutions in the state.

The ceremony, held at the Victoria Gowon Hall, marked a significant milestone in the governor’s administration, which has been in office for 20 months.

Governor Mutfwang emphasized the importance of good governance, efficiency, and accountability, stating that the new appointees have been carefully selected based on their track records of excellence, integrity, and dedication to public service.

The governor charged the new commissioners to channel their wealth of experience and expertise towards the success of his “The Time is Now” administration. He also urged them to drive the vision of the administration with passion, efficiency, and an unwavering commitment to service delivery.

Governor Mutfwang congratulated the chairmen and members of the governing council of tertiary institutions, tasking them with driving the much-needed reforms in the state’s higher institutions.

He emphasized the importance of education in the state’s development agenda and urged the council members to reposition the tertiary institutions to equip the youth with the requisite skills and knowledge toj compete globally.

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to peace and security, infrastructural development, effective healthcare services, education, and good governance.

He encouraged the new appointees to introduce innovative ideas that will accelerate the progress of the state and leave a lasting impact on the people.

Responding on behalf of the sworned-in Chairmen and members of the various Board, board Chairmen of the Plateau State University, Prof. William Qurix described their appointments as a milestone towards the development of the state, assuring that councils would focus on creating the education of the future and not just the future of education.

Our correspondent reports that the new commissioners were assigned various portfolios; Rt. Hon Joyce Lohya Ramnap who was a former Deputy Speaker of Plateau state House of Assembly, has been posted to ministry of information and communication.
Arc. Sylvanus Dongtoe, Housing and urban development, Cornelius Doeyok- Tourism, Culture and Hospitality, Dr. Nicholas Bamnong- Health and Sunday Alex Akpa, ministry of Livestock Development, veterinary services and fisheries.

Other commissioners experienced reshufflement, Musa Ashoms was moved from Information to youths and Sports.
