Gov Namadi Bags Leadership Newspaper’s Governor of the Year Award, Pledges Greater Development for Jigawa

Governor Malam Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has been honoured with the prestigious “Governor of the Year 2024” award by the Leadership Newspaper Group. The award was presented during the organisation’s Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony, held at the State House Old Banquet Hall in Abuja.

Governor Namadi was celebrated alongside several distinguished Nigerian leaders, including other state governors and notable personalities recognized for their outstanding contributions to national development.

In his acceptance speech, Governor Namadi expressed deep appreciation to the Leadership Newspaper, describing the honour as both “inspirational and revered.” He commended the media group for its unwavering role in promoting national dialogue and applauded the relevance of the event’s theme, which centred on fiscal reforms and governance under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Reaffirming his commitment to effective leadership, Governor Namadi stated that the award would further energize his administration to fast-track key developmental initiatives across Jigawa State.

“We consider this mandate a sacred trust, and we remain fully committed to using it to improve the lives of our people,” he said. “This award is not just a recognition of what we’ve done—it’s a call to do even more. We will continue to pursue inclusive, people-focused development for a Greater Jigawa.”

The governor concluded his remarks with prayers for divine guidance and extended heartfelt gratitude to the people of Jigawa State for their unwavering support.
