Gov Namadi Launches Distribution of 59,000 Bags of Rice, Maize, Other Palliatives from Federal Govt

Jigawa state government has commenced the distribution of 59,000 bags of 25kg of rice and other assorted grains to the less privileges persons accross the 287 political wards of the state.

In his speech at the flagg off of the distribution exercise held at Dutse Government House, The state governor Malam Umar Namadi said Federal government under the leadership of president Bola Ahmad Tinubu delivered the food items for emergency distribution to the people,

He said the assorted food items delivered by Federal Government included 13,825 bags of soguem, 9,500 bags of Millet, 11500 bags of Maize and 24,000 bags of rice.

“To ensure we reached more households the state government has top-off with
23,000 cartons of Superggettee, , 5,000 bags rice, 500 bags of soguem and 5,000 bags of Maize respectively, ” the governor stated.

Speaking at the occasion the state Commissioner for special duties Hon Auwal Dalladi Sankara said, the beneficiaries were selected from accross the 27 local government area of the state

He said the distribution of the palliative items delivered by Federal Government which was flagged of in Dutse was just a continuation of series of palliative and empowerment packages embarked by Governor Malam Umar Namadi in which sofar over 3 million people were directly benefited in the state.

According to him the stakeholders committee were formed to ensure equally distribution of the items to each local government, and other specified beneficiaries bodies and organization as directed by Federal Government.

“We selected 100 beneficiaries from each political wards and all necessary logistics and preparation was made to ensure the success of the exercise within short period of time”

In her speech the Director General National Emergency Management Agency Hajiya Zubaida Umar ,who was represented by NEMA Zonal Director Dr Nura Abdullahi said, Federal Government released 42,000 metric tones Maize Millet rice and sageum from national food reserve for distribution accross the country.

She commended Jigawa state for timely action in distributing the item which was aimed at reducing the hardship face by people accross the nation, described Jigawa state Emergency Response System as worth emulation for other state.
