Gov. Yusuf empowers 1,028 women with grants

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has launched an empowerment program for 1,028 women across 44 local governments of the state.

This was contained in a statement issued by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Director General, media and publicity to the Governor which was made available to journalists on Monday.

According to the statement, the initiative aims to empower women economically and foster self-reliance, aligning with the spirit of International Women’s Day, celebrated globally on March 8.

While launching the program at Government House, Governor Yusuf emphasized that the financial support was specifically designed to enable women to stand on their own feet.

“We want our women to thrive economically and be self reliant,” he stated.

“By providing this grant, we encourage them to invest wisely and contribute to their families and communities.”

The governor assured that the program would be a regular occurrence.

“Every month, we will continue to extend our support to the women of Kano,” he affirmed.

As these women receive their grants, Kano takes a step toward gender equality and economic empowerment.

The governor’s commitment to uplifting women underscores the importance of fostering a society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
