Gov.Yusuf Lauds Police Command Over Peace, Calmness In Kano

Governo Abba Yusuf of Kano State has commended the state police command for the current peace and calmness being enjoyed in the state.

Yusuf made the commendation while receiving the Wife of the Inspector General of Police, Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun,who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House on Monday.

He noted that the state is now calm and peaceful due to the strong and no nonsense activities of the police command led by the Commissioner of police, Mr Salman Dogo Garba.

“Kano has never had it so good because now we have the best team of policemen with the commissioner of police doing up and doing together with the AIG Zone One,” the governor said.

He also lauded Mrs Egbetokun for her charisma, dedication and love for the wives of policemen.

Yusuf said his administration would continue to assist the police with logistics to enable them protect lives and property.

He also assured that his government would provide a plot of land with financial assistance to the state branch of the Police Officers Wives Association(POWA) to enable it build its Secretariat.

Earlier,Mrs Egbetokun who is also the President of POWA, said she alongside her management team were in Kano to open a new Secretariat and offer support to police widows.

She commended the governor for his provision of welfare to the people of the state and the sustenance of their cultural values.
