Gov. Yusuf launches KIPPIS for financial reform in Kano

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has inaugurated the Kano Integrated Personal and Payroll Information System (KIPPIS) to revolutionize financial operations within the state.

The governor revealed this on Tuesday during the twelveth Executive Council meeting held in Council chamber, Government House, Kano.

According to him, the system marks a significant step towards centralizing payments by the state and local governments, aligning with global financial standards.

Governor Yusuf also emphasized the importance of capturing all civil servants, pensioners, and political appointees within the system to ensure its seamless operation across the state.

He said, “The incorporation of e-payment capabilities within KIPPIS will not only reduce government expenses on bank charges but also address payroll payment issues, block leakages, and promote accountability in government transactions.”

In tandem with the launch of KIPPIS, the governor directed the evaluation of Commissioners’ performance every six months to ensure quality service delivery.

“The issuance of evaluation templates to Commissioners aims to assess their performance and ensure effective governance.”

He emphasized the administration’s dedication to maintaining high standards within the executive council.

The State Accountant General, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdussalam, said the KIPPIS is designed to streamline payroll and pension systems through biometric technology and rigorous validation processes, aims to eradicate irregularities such as infiltration, manipulations, and unnecessary deductions.
