Gov. Yusuf Mourns Fallen Anti–Phone Snatching Commander

…Describes Late Inuwa Sharada as a Brave Officer Who Died Protecting Kano

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the killing of the Commander of the Anti–Phone Snatching Unit, Late Inuwa Sharada, describing his death as tragic and a huge loss to the state’s security architecture.

The late officer was laid to rest in Sharada, Kano on Thursday, with Governor Yusuf in attendance at the funeral prayer, where he joined family members, colleagues, and top government officials to pay final respects.

In a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf lamented that the death of Inuwa is setback to current Anti-phone snatching drive in Kano.

Until his death, Inuwa Sharada was the Chairman of Kano State Anti-Phone Snatching, a voluntery group that was adopted by Kano State Government and transformed into Kano State Anti-Phone Snatching and Illicit Drugs Ptotection Squard .

“The death of Officer Inuwa is a painful reminder of the risks our gallant security personnel face daily in their duty to protect the people. He died in active service, defending the peace of Kano.

“On behalf of the Government and the good people of Kano State, I extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, and the entire security community,” the Governor said.

Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to support all security agencies in the fight against phone snatching, thuggery, and other forms of criminality, stressing that government will not tolerate acts of lawlessness or allow criminal gangs to terrorize innocent citizens.

“We will not fold our arms while a few misguided individuals attempt to hold our state hostage. We will continue to provide the necessary support and ensure that justice is served,” he assured.

The Governor also called on residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by promptly reporting suspicious activities in their communities.

“When you see something, say something — together we will reclaim our streets and safeguard our future,” he emphasized.

Governor Yusuf prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late officer, grant him eternal rest, and give his family the strength to bear the loss.
