Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has relieved his Political Adviser, Sunusi Surajo Kwankwaso, of his appointment with immediate effect over poor performance.
This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Saturday.
The decision followed an extensive assessment of the activities of the office, which revealed failure to meet the expectations and responsibilities attached to the position.
Governor Yusuf stated that the action was necessary to safeguard the integrity of his administration and to restore harmony, focus, and effectiveness within government operations.
The Governor expressed concern over rising tension and divisions traced to the conduct of the former adviser, noting that his administration will not tolerate any action capable of undermining unity and stability in governance.
He emphasized that loyalty, discipline, and performance remain the guiding principles of his leadership, stressing that all political appointees must work in the collective interest of Kano State.
In a related development, Governor Yusuf has approved the appointment of Hon. Mustapha Hamza Buhari Bakwana as the new Political Adviser.
The Governor expressed confidence that the new appointee will bring renewed commitment, professionalism, and a sense of responsibility to the office in line with the vision of the administration.
Governor Yusuf reiterated his commitment to building a united, responsive, and people-oriented government driven by accountability and results.
