Governor Buni Suspends Machina LGA Chairman

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has suspended the Chairman of Machina Local Government, Alhaji Idrissa Mai Bukar Machina, with immediate effect.

According to a statement released by Shuaibu Abdullahi, Press Secretary to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the suspension was due to allegations of misconduct and insubordination.

The statement read: “The Governor, exercising his powers conferred by Section 2 of the Local Government Law (as amended) 2019, approved the suspension.”

Consequently, Governor Buni has directed the suspended Chairman to hand over the affairs of the Local Government Council to the Vice Chairman, pending further directives.
