From Muhammad Ya’u, Kano
It obtain said, Politics is a games of deception, maneuvers, intrigues and intriguing, that is exactly what is today playing out in Kano Politics, more specifically in the ruling NNPP and precisely between the incumbent Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his Political godfather, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The recent events, has clearly brought to the fore a clear changing of pattan of Kano Politics with the State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf slowly and allegedly dumping his godfather to the Abuja political cycles of APC.
Although, one have to be careful so as not to fall as a pray to the Political Maneuvers of the ancient City and specifically Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso who have been holding sway to the political power of the City for quite a long time.
In this contest, one would vividly recalled what exactly happened in 2023 at the hit of the transition of powers that was the electioneering period, when Kwankwaso than packed out of PDP in protest of not having his needed chance to do as he wishes.
That time, when Kwankwaso left the Party, but he didn’t not left with all his Loyalists who heartily believes in him, he left behind in the PDP, not until they created a serious fraca that left the Party after elections becoming the distance forth positions.
That was completely crippled PDP in Kano and up till today put it in a much of a struggling Party to find it’s feets rather than a Party ready for elections.
To this historical background, many believes that Kwankwaso is at it again coming out with his old Political intrigues, pretending that he is not aware of the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf movement to APC.
Already, several factions in the NNPP one for the Governor and another for the Kwankwaso, have emerged with everyone openly saying unprinted things to other
Hashimu Dungurawa who is the NNPP State Chairman, clearly said, On behalf of the NNPP party in Kano State and at the national level, and all the segments of this blessed movement—such as CRC/Lafiya Jari/Kano Propa/Kwankwasiyya, our teeming youths and women, and patriotic citizens—I wish to inform you that we are aware of the developments happening here in Kano State concerning some individuals who intend to defect to the APC.
He said I want to make it clear that the Kano State party, the national party, and our national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, together with other leaders, do not approve of what is happening. In fact, we did everything within our power to persuade them to be patient and not defect to the APC, because of our responsibility to them and our responsibility to the people of Kano; however, that has become difficult.
“Therefore, on behalf of all of us collectively, we once again appeal to them, for the sake of Allah and the Prophet, not to leave this party and not to defect to the party that we have opposed and which the masses and other voters have rejected.
“Our hope is that they will remain in this party in order to help those who are suffering, and to improve education, agriculture, commerce, and other sectors, as provided for in our party’s constitution.
I would also like to draw the attention of those spreading rumors, especially the claim that certain individuals are pitching the Governor against our leader, Senator Kwankwaso— particularly the Deputy Governor, Senator Rufai Hanga, Sanusi Surajo and Hashimu Dungurawa. We believe that the accusation is based on our good relationship and loyalty to the leader. However, we have never put anyone against our leader; and if anyone has evidence, let them present it. May Allah grant them patience.
Dungurawa added, For this reason, on behalf of all NNPP officials and leaders, the public is advised to continue with their daily means of livelihood. At this point, I will like to call that nobody should their names on any document as being circulated by mischief makers.
“We call on all the people of Kano State and the nation at large to continue supporting the NNPP and our leader, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, in order to achieve success in the upcoming elections.
“The National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party NNPP, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the Party, have not only distance themselves from the planned moves of the State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf and some of his cabinets Members to the All Progressive Congress APC, but begged him to reconsider his decision.
Speaking to Newsmen, the State Chairman of the Party, Suleiman Hashimu Dungurawa, denied that Kwankwaso has accepted Governor Yusuf planned moves to APC, in fact, he said that the Leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement is highly disturbed over the Governor’s decision.
“On behalf of myself, and all stakeholders of the NNPP and our Leader Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, have not agreed for the Governor Yusuf and his Cabinets Members moving to APC”.
He said, “we have been begging the Governor and others not to defect out of the NNPP but it has becomes obvious that they are hell-bent in moving out to APC, this would be tantamount to betraying the thrust shouldered on them by the teeming Kano Youths and others”.
Hashimu Dungurawa, hints that, “those moving out of APC should remember that they are elected on the thrust of Kano People’s to served them according to the dictate of the Kwankwasiyya Movements and getting out of the Party will be an outright betrayals”.
Similarly, the Chairman strongly denied having a hands, himself the State Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdussalam and Senator Rufai Sani Hanga in instigating Kwankwaso against the Governor.
“I swear to Almighty God that myself and the Deputy Governor and the Senator have no any hands in the alleged creating problems between Governor Yusuf and his godfather Kwankwaso”.
The Chairman, than called on his Members of the NNPP not to signed any documents in circulations because their Leader Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso didn’t approve the actions.
But on the other hands, the Governor’s Director General Protocol, Abdullahi Rogo was seen in a clip confirming his Governor Yusuf Moves to APC.
Although, Rogo did not insult anybody while making his comments, but he was quoted to be saying that, “we are going to meet with both Governor Yusuf and our Leader Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to ensure that they accept our position to defect to APC”.
However, the Chairman of Dawakin Tofa, Anas Danmaliki was shown also in a clip insisting that they are defecting along with Governor Yusuf weather Kwankwaso like it or not.
He said, “today we are Kwankwasiyya/Abba we believes in him and we are going along with him to APC that is our position and not regrets”.
Political pundits, believes that it is only time would bring out the clear pictures of the recent political upheaval in Kano.
