Governor Yusuf to Inaugurate Reconstituted Shuurah Council in Kano

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabiru Yusuf, will on Monday, September 8, 2025, inaugurate the newly reconstituted Shuurah Council at the Government House, Kano.

According to the state Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the inauguration marks a major step by the administration to deepen participatory governance, inclusiveness, and transparency in policy formulation and implementation.

The Shuurah Council, made up of prominent personalities drawn from key stakeholder groups across the state, is designed to serve as an advisory body to the government. It will provide expert guidance on policies and programmes aimed at driving the government’s transformation agenda and promoting sustainable development.

Governor Yusuf, who has consistently emphasized his commitment to people-centered leadership, is expected to use the occasion to outline the objectives and mandate of the Council while reaffirming his administration’s pledge to accountability, fairness, and citizen participation in governance.

“The Council represents diverse constituencies within the Kano community, ensuring balanced representation across social strata,” the statement noted, adding that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to consolidate democratic ideals and strengthen state institutions for improved service delivery.

All Council members and invited guests have been urged to attend the inauguration as the state government takes another significant stride in institutional reforms.
