Group Urges Northern Youth, Women to Get PVCs for 2027
The Renewed Hope Arewa Youth Engagement Initiative this afternoon has issued a clarion call to all northern youth and women to prioritize obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as Nigeria prepares for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on behalf of the movement, Barrister Najah Umar, team lead, emphasized that meaningful participation in governance begins with active involvement in the electoral process. She noted that without PVCs, citizens cannot exercise their fundamental right to vote or influence decisions that shape their future.
This was contained in a statement issued to PRIME TIME NEWS by M. Saeed Kano, Director of Public Relations and Enlightenment, who reiterated that the Initiative remains committed to grassroots mobilization and enlightenment across all Northern states including Abuja.
“The power of transformation lies in our hands, and that power is only valid when we hold our PVCs. We urge every young person and every woman in Northern Nigeria to rise up, get registered, and collect their PVCs ahead of the 2027 elections,” Barrister Najah Umar declared.
The movement highlighted that youth and women constitute the majority of the Nigerian population, and their united voices at the ballot box can redefine the political and socio-economic landscape of the region and the country at large.
The call is part of a wider campaign and advocacy by the Initiative to strengthen democratic participation, promote civic responsibility, and foster a culture of accountability in governance.
