In an effort to support the community, Himma Radio in Kano has sponsored the return of 80 out-of-school children to classrooms in Madobi Local Government Area.
Speaking at the event, the District Head of Madobi, Sale Musa Sale Kwankwaso, pledged to facilitate the enrollment of about six hundred (600) children in schools to reduce the number of out-of-school children in the local government.
Alhaji Musa Sale stated that, together with other traditional rulers, they would sponsor the enrollment of 50 children in each of the twelve wards within the local government area.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Madobi Local Government, Sulaiman Dan Azumi represented by the Speaker of the Local Government Council and Councillor of Kafin Agur Ward, Hon. Tijjani Rabi’u Kafi reaffirmed the council’s commitment to supporting educational development for the progress of the community.
Providing further insight into the reason for organizing the event, the Managing Director of Himma Radio, Alhaji Isma’il Yusuf Makwarari, explained that the initiative is part of the station’s corporate social responsibility initiatives community aimed at contributing to educational development. He also proposed the establishment of the Madobi Education Trust Fund to support education in the area.
In his remarks, the Education Secretary of Madobi Local Government, Lawan Sani Gora, called on parents to closely monitor their children and ensure regular school attendance to guarantee the success of the initiative.
In conclusion, the District Head of Madobi approved the establishment of the Education Trust Fund in the local government and gave a three-month timeline for the official launch.
The event was attended by key stakeholders in the education sector as well as traditional leaders from Madobi Local Government Area.
