How Tinubu Helped My Daughter Get a Job at NUPRC – Buba Galadima
Buba Galadima, a prominent chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and a leading figure in the Kwankwasiyya movement, has revealed how President Bola Tinubu played a role in helping his daughter secure employment at the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
Speaking during a programme on AIT, Galadima disclosed that despite being a consistent critic of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), he maintains a cordial relationship with President Tinubu.
“We are friends and will continue to be friends. If I need anything from him, I can ask,” Galadima said. “Let me confess on national television: my daughter used my phone to call the President, and he picked up, thinking it was me. She and her siblings told him that things were tough and that their father couldn’t help them but had always said Tinubu was his friend.”
Galadima recounted that his daughter, who had recently completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), mentioned she was unable to secure a position at the NUPRC, which is headed by Gbenga Komolafe.
“Tinubu simply said, ‘Call Komolafe. Give my friend’s daughter a job.’ That’s how she got the position. Now she wants to go to Mecca to thank God and even the President,” he added.
The NNPP stalwart also spoke on his daughter’s past service under former President Muhammadu Buhari, claiming she worked for four years without pay.
“My daughter worked for Buhari for four years, in Osinbajo’s office, without receiving any salary. He even instructed that she should not be paid. Let them produce any voucher showing she was ever paid,” he said.
