Insecurity: Gombe NSCDC Deploys Personnel To Guard Tertiary Institutions
From Abubakar Rabilu Gombe
To ensure the safety of students, the Gombe state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC has deployed armed personnel to all tertiary institutions across the state.
The Gombe state Commandant, Muhammad Bello Mu’azu stated this in an interview with our reporter in Gombe said the deployment was done under the ‘safe school’ program, an initiative of the federal government aimed at protecting the students from all attacks including kidnapping for ransom by hoodlums.
Mu’azu explained that the initiative will give both parents and students confidence in their safety in schools with the presence of armed personnel and halt the activities of hoodlums who usually launch an attack on institutions.
“Despite inadequate mobility faced by the Command, it will never be an impediment to me in carrying out the initiative holistically for the programme to succeed with the posting of armed personnel to all tertiary institutions who would keep a vigil on the schools,” he said.
Mu’azu, assured parents of the safety of their children studying in Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges in the state as their security is guaranteed.
He said “I’m doing everything possible to ensure that all schools and students across the state are safe and protected from all forms of criminal acts, adding that NSCDC has synergy with other sister security agencies in the state to ensure that Gombe is a crime-free state.
