Insecurity: Muslim faith observe special prayers In Zamfara

Disturbed by the frequent attacks on Zamfara state communities by bandits, thousands of Muslim faith across the state have converged at Gusau Eid praying ground for special prayers, seeking God’s intervention.

The prayers session which was heavily attended by the Islamic schoolers, religious organisations, pupils and students of both Primary and Secondary Schools in the state.

Amongst the observed programmes, at the event were the recitions from the holy Qur’an, prayers from selected Islamic Scholars, preaching and other devotions against anybody that secretly involved aiding banditry in the state.

Speaking, the Commissioner ministry of education, science and technology, Malan Wadatau Madawaki, said as far as their ministry is concern, teemit students will continue to participate in such type of prayers.

The commissioner who spoke through his permanent secretary of the ministry, Dr. Barira Ibrahim Bagobiri, added that, the abduction of students in their respective institution is enough to compelled the ministry to allow the students to take part of the prayers.

He however called on all security agencies to gear up and play their expected constitutional role with a view to ensure the menace curtailt in the state and the country in general.

Also speaking, the Chairman organising committee of the special prayers programme, Professor Nasiru Anka, said they decided to organise special prayers in Gusau Eid praying ground, considering the multitude number of Muslim Ummah that would attend the session.

He said, Zamfara state has been faced with security challenges, and the only way to curtail the menace is to go spiritual thereby seeking God’s intervention.

“Since we are all aware that only God can conquer the security challenges that bedeviled the state, we have to gather our children in their large numbers to pray for the immediate restoration of peace in our state, northern Nigeria and Nigeria as a whole.

“Respected Ulamas within and outside the state have gathered here to pray for Allah’s intervention to end the merciless attacks on our communities and our schools by bandits which would never allow education to improve.

“I want to use this medium to thank the present administration under governor Dauda Lawal, for showing concern on how best they can do to make Zamfara communities to sleep with two eyes closed.

“Finally, I will like to inform the gathering that, this type of prayer session will be conducted from time to time, till we witness the end of this banditry activities in our dear state, prof concluded.
