Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has described the security challenges facing parts of Kano as “new and alien” to the state.
Yusuf made the remark on Tuesday at Tsanyawa town where he visited troops of the Joint Task Force combating banditry and kidnapping in some communities in the state.
“Insecurity challenges are something new and something alien that have just been observed here in the state and by the grace of Allah we will do whatever it takes to nip them in the bud, especially the activities of these bandits, kidnappers and others.
“We are aware that they have been attacking innocent communities, especially here in Tsaanyawa and Shanano Local Government Areas.
“Many innocent lives were taken away. Many innocent people were also sent to the bush. We want to assure you that, In Sha Allah, those that were kidnapped will be brought back to join their families,”he said.
The Governor said he was at Tsanyawa Local Government to assess security challenges in the area, and interact with the troops manning the affected communities.
“We are also here to encourage you and motivate you, to put in more of your best.I assure you, that government, along with all the security agencies, are here to support you.We will continue to do the needful, ensure your welfare and ensure that you are well taken care of.
