Islamic New Year: Governor Namadi Celebrates With Muslim Ummah

Governor Mallam Umar Namadi extends his warmest greetings and sincere wishes to Jigawa State citizens and all Muslim faithful across the world on the occasion of the Islamic New Year, 1445 AH.

As the Islamic year begins, Governor Namadi emphasizes the importance of reflection, gratitude, and renewal of faith. It is a time to pause and contemplate the journey undertaken thus far, to acknowledge achievements, learn from mistakes, and seek Allah’s forgiveness for any shortcomings.

The Governor reminds the Muslim faithful that the Hijri calendar, which marks the Islamic New Year, is not only a way to keep track of time but also a reminder of the rich history and significance of faith, according to a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Hamisu Mohammed Gumel.

“The Hijri calendar, gifted to us by Allah, serves not only as a means to mark the passage of time but also as a reminder of our rich history and the significance of our faith. It reminds us of the Hijrah, the migration of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from Makkah to Madinah, a pivotal event that symbolizes sacrifice, resilience, and the quest for establishing a just society.

“In these uncertain times, the essence of the Hijrah holds more relevance than ever. It teaches us to face challenges with firm faith and unity. Together, as a community, we can overcome any adversity and build a better future for ourselves and generations to come,” he said.

Governor Namadi reiterated his commitment to the well-being and prosperity of the state and urged the citizens to strive for progress, honesty, and accountability.

“As your Governor, I am committed to working tirelessly for the well-being and prosperity of our state. Let us, hand in hand, strive for progress, honesty, and accountability in our actions. May we foster an environment where justice prevails, where the less fortunate find support, and where education enlightens minds.”

The Governor encourages each individual to utilize this new beginning as an opportunity to increase devotion to Allah and contribute positively to society, embracing values of kindness, empathy, and understanding. He calls for unity and spreads the message of love and harmony as he prays for the wellbeing of the citizens.

“May Allah bestow His countless blessings upon you and your families. May this year be one of unity, peace, and prosperity for our state and the entire Muslim Ummah.”
