IWD: Plateau First Lady Hails Women’s Contribution to National Development

Wife of the Plateau State Governor, Helen Mutfwang has lauded the contributions of women to national development.
Mutfwang made this known while interacting with women at the Government House Rayfield in celebration of the Day commended their resilience in the face of challenges and assured that she would continue to work with her husband, Governor Caleb Mutfwang to empower women to be more involved in societal development.
She promised improved investment in women and girls to accelerate progress in society.
This year’s theme is “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.”
Earlier, the state Commissioner for women Affairs and Social Development, Caroline Dafur ,while leading women during a to the government house, called on women to sustain their rights and all forms of discrimination against them.
She underscores the need for women to be part of every meaningful development.
Secretary to the Government of Plateau, Samuel Jatau, charged them to be charged agents even as they continue to contribute to nation building.
Our correspondent reports that the road walk pulled women from National council of women society, Stand Up for Women Society, Gender Commission and women professional bodies. They were accompanied by life band and Road safety corps.
