As Jigawa State celebrates 34 years of its creation, Governor Malam Umar Namadi has paid glowing tribute to the sacrifices, resilience, and dedication of past leaders whose collective efforts laid the foundation for the state’s progress.

Speaking during a press briefing held at the Government House Conference Room, Dutse, Governor Namadi described the anniversary as a moment of reflection, celebration, and renewed commitment to building a stronger and more prosperous Jigawa.

According to the governor, Jigawa has come a long way since its creation, thanks to the “commitment of past leaders who worked tirelessly to set the state on the path of development.”

He noted that from its humble beginnings in 1991, Jigawa has witnessed remarkable transformation in governance, infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare, and social development.

Governor Namadi emphasized that his administration is determined to build upon the achievements of successive governments while charting a new course for accelerated growth.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the 12-point agenda, a comprehensive development plan aimed at driving inclusive growth, boosting productivity, and improving the quality of life for all residents.

“As we celebrate 34 years of existence, we must set our sights on a greater future. My administration is focused on building a sustainable Jigawa where every citizen can thrive,” he said.

The governor highlighted ongoing reforms across key sectors, citing investments in agricultural mechanization, education, healthcare infrastructure, road construction, and youth empowerment, adding that these interventions are designed not only to improve service delivery but also to position Jigawa as a model of innovation and good governance.

Governor Namadi also called for collective responsibility in sustaining peace and development across the state as he stressed the need for unity among political leaders, traditional institutions, religious bodies, civil society organizations, and the private sector.

“The progress of Jigawa is a shared responsibility. We must all work together, regardless of our differences, to achieve the greater future we desire.”

Looking ahead, the governor assured citizens that his administration will continue to prioritize economic diversification, job creation, and social welfare programs to reduce poverty and improve livelihoods.

He reaffirmed his belief that with shared commitment, Jigawa can unlock its full potential and compete favourably on both national and global stages.

Governor Namadi concluded by expressing his gratitude to the people of Jigawa for their resilience, trust, and unalloyed support over the years urging them to continue supporting government initiatives, promising that his administration will remain transparent, accountable, and focused on delivering tangible results.
