From Mika’il Tsoho, Dutse
Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi, the wife of the Jigawa State governor, has urged well-off individuals to support the less privileged. She made this appeal during her speech commemorating World Humanitarian Day in Jigawa State.
“Today, we gather to recognize World Humanitarian Day, a day dedicated to advocating for the rights, dignity, and well-being of individuals worldwide,” she stated.
The First Lady emphasized that World Humanitarian Day serves as a reminder of our shared humanity and responsibility. It’s a day to celebrate the compassion and kindness within us all and to take action to help those in need.
She highlighted that millions face poverty, violence, discrimination, and other injustices daily, and it is our duty to work towards a more just and compassionate society.
Hajiya Hadiza noted the government’s commitment to addressing discrimination and promoting social inclusion through collaboration with relevant agencies, particularly in education, health, and commerce. She appealed to individuals to complement government efforts by providing basic support to the underprivileged.
“Let us reflect on the importance of this day and recommit to the values of compassion, solidarity, and respect for all. Together, we can make a difference and create a world where everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity and peace,” she concluded.
