Jigawa Govt Okays Over N5.98bn For 1,500 Mass Housing Construction

The Jigawa State Executive Council on Wednesday approved the contract for the construction of 1,500 Mass housing in the state.

This was announced by the Commissioner of Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed shortly after the council meeting held at government house Dutse.

He explained that this is in line with Governor Malam Umar Namadi’s Twelve Points Agenda which includes Land Reforms and Urban Infrastructure to expand affordable mass housing projects across the State.

“The State Executive Council have deliberated and approved a memorandum presented by the Ministry of Land, Housing, Urban Development and Regional Planning for the award of contract for the construction of 1,500 affordable Mass Housing projects” he said.

According to him, the mass housing project will have a total of 1,500 Units of Three-bedroom stand-alone and Two two-bedroom semi-detached houses. The mass housing will be constructed in Dutse with 600 Units of houses being the State capital.

Similarly, Hadejia will have 200no. Units of houses with Kazaure, Gumel, Ringim and Birnin Kudu to have 100no.Units each, while Babura and Kafin Hausa will have 150. Units each to support the high demand for accommodation due to the presence of federal and state universities.

“The Council approved the sum of Five Billion, Nine Hundred and Eighty-Four Million, Eight Hundred and Eighty Thousand, Eight Hundred and Eighty-Three Naira, Thirty Kobo (N5,984,880,883,30K) only for the first Phase of the mass housing project of 500no. Units of houses of Two Bedrooms Semi-Detached across the State” the commissioner said.
