Jigawa Gov’t to Establish Teacher Resource Centre at Gumel College

The Jigawa State Government has finalized arrangements to establish a Teacher Resource Centre at the Gumel College of Education, aimed at enhancing the capacity of teachers in the state.
This was disclosed by the Technical Adviser to the Governor on Basic Education, Dr. Hauwa Mustapha, during her visit to the college to inspect the proposed site for the center.
Dr. Hauwa explained that the initiative is part of Governor Umar Namadi’s agenda to transform the state’s education system. She noted that the center is designed to promote the teaching profession by providing intensive training and skill development for both teachers and learners in teacher education programs.
“I came to inspect the site. Books and other instructional materials have already been procured from America and are in place,” Dr. Hauwa said.
She urged residents of the state to cooperate fully with the government to ensure the success of the initiative, emphasizing its potential to improve the quality of education in Jigawa.
During the visit, the Provost of Gumel College of Education, Dr. Nura Muhammad Ringim, expressed gratitude to the state government for the program. He described it as a significant development that would enhance the skills and working capacity of teachers in the state.
“This is a welcome development that will undoubtedly improve the teaching profession and contribute to raising the standard of education in Jigawa,” Dr. Ringim stated.
The College Registrar also lauded the initiative and thanked Dr. Hauwa for her dedication and commitment to improving education in the state. He commended her for sharing her expertise and playing a pivotal role in advancing the sector.
