Jigawa NAWOJ visit orphanage home, SSG office others

The leadership of Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Jigawa state chapter has embarked on familiarization visit to some important places in the state.
The visit led by the chairperson of the Association Hajiya Aisha Ilyasu Surko, commenced with visit to orphanage home in Dutse the state.
Surko emphasized on the need to care for the orphans and women which according to her is one of the mandate of the Union.
The chairperson who presented some gifts for the orphans, expressed delight on the living condition of orphans Children in the home and urged for more support from wealthy individuals within and outside of the state.
She then commended the efforts of the Government in transforming the Orphanage through provision of all needed to staff to care for the Children.
As part of the visit the chairperson also paid a familiarization visit to Secretary of State Government Alhaji Bala Ibrahim in his office.
While delivering his speech during the visit, the SSG called on Nigeria Association of Women Journalists to puts more efforts on reducing number of rape cases in the state.
He said, despite Jigawa being peaceful, Religious and of great Cultural values yet, the incidence of Rape keep rising puting the State among the state with the higher number of rape cases.
The NAWOJ leadership also paid visit to the office of commissioner Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development Hajiya Hadiza Abdulwahab.
The commissioner urged the excos to Protect the Dignity of Jigawa State in all representation, where every indigene and resident of Jigawa should be proud of them.
