From Mika’il Tsoho, Dutse

A Non-Governmental Organization known as Jigawa Maternal Accountability Forum (JIMAF) with support from OPTIONS embarked on massive enlightenment campaigns on basic minimum package for health services.

The campaign which was organised by JIMAF, commenced with a town-hall meeting that involved relevant stakeholders in the Jigawa North-Central Senatorial zone held on Sunday at Birnin Kudu local government area of the state.

Speaking during the meeting, the representative of OPTIONS comrade Mustapha Kurfi said, the purpose of the meeting is to create more awareness on how beneficiaries of JICHMA can access the health services from the agency.

He explained that it was observed that most of the beneficiaries don’t know how to access, while some are not even aware of how to access the services.

“Therefore a group of Civil Society Organizations working on health-related issues under the platform of JIMAF with support from us embarked on massive enlightenment campaigns for the beneficiaries to know this is their right as well as to know JICHMA belongs to them”, he said.

Comrade Kurfi added that, the meeting compromised both People With Disabilities (PWDs), women, youths, and traditional and religious leaders from seven local governments in the zone.

While making his remarks, the Birnin Kudu local government PHC Manager Bello Abdulkareem, JICHMA is always ready to receive the beneficiaries in it’s centres across the state.

He then assured to extend all the complaints made by the participants to the relevant authorities for better service delivery.

Also speaking, the representative from JIMAF comrade Musa Mu’az urged the participants to access the services as well as to extend the messages to other beneficiaries from their communities.

Comrade Mu’az also urged the representative of JICHMA to look into the complaints made by the participants and provide a better solution for better health services delivery in Jigawa state.
