JIRS Initiates Efforts to Revive Joint Revenue Committee

The Jigawa State Internal Revenue Service (JIRS) organized a meeting with state and local government revenue stakeholders to enhance tax collection services.

Chaired by Alhaji Nasir Sabo Idris, the meeting took place at the Manpower Development Institute in Dutse on Thursday.

Alhaji Nasir emphasized that reviving the committee aims not only to boost tax payments but also to foster greater collaboration among state and local government revenue collectors.

He highlighted the committee’s significance in promoting harmony and reducing interference between state and local government revenue activities.

The committee comprises members from the state revenue services, 27 local government revenue officers, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Land, Vehicles Inspection Office, Ministry of Finance, and others.

Alhaji Nasir commended the participants, urging them to collaborate for improved revenue services in Jigawa state.
