Jobe triumphs over Umar Ganduje in tribunal battle

The National/State House of Assembly sitting in Kano has delivered a resounding blow to Umar Abdullahi Ganduje of the APC, dismissing his petition challenging the victory of Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, representing the NNPP, in the Rimin Gado/Dawakin Tofa/Tofa Federal House of Representatives Election held on March 25, 2023.

A three-panel judge presiding over the case unanimously ruled to dismiss the petition for its lack of merit.

The tribunal declared that the petitioner, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, had failed to present substantial evidence to support the allegations made during the conduct of the election.

In a further blow to the petitioner, the tribunal imposed a financial penalty of N200,000, which will be borne jointly and severally by Umar Abdullahi Ganduje and his associates.
