Journalist dies in National Assembly shuttle bus

Tijani Adeyemi, a Senate correspondent for the Tribune Newspaper, died of cardiac arrest on Wednesday, according to reports.

Adeyemi boarded one of the National Assembly shuttle buses at the Mopol Gate around 10 am. When he reached the checkpoint, he was discovered to be lifeless.

Efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead when rushed to the Secretary General of the Federation’s clinic.

Adeyemi’s remains were later transferred to the National Assembly’s clinic for evacuation and burial. He was laid to rest at the Gudu Cemetery in line with Islamic rites.

Adeyemi’s death is a tragic loss for the Nigerian journalism community. He was a respected and experienced reporter who was known for his fair and accurate coverage of the National Assembly.
