KACRAN urges governors to follow Yobe State’s lead in fair palliative distribution

From Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu

The National President of the Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association (KACRAN), Comrade Khalil Mohammed Bello, has called on governors across Nigeria to take a cue from Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni’s directive on fair and just distribution of palliatives. The move comes in response to the challenges brought about by the removal of the oil subsidy and the subsequent introduction of a palliative distribution plan by President Bala Ahmed Tinubu.

KACRAN has emphasized the dire need for assistance among Nigerians due to the economic hardships caused by the complete removal of the oil subsidy. With the prices of essential goods and services soaring, many citizens are struggling to afford even a single meal per day.

Comrade Khalil Mohammed Bello applauded the collaborative efforts between President Tinubu and state governors, leading to the decision to distribute palliatives through the states. This approach is believed to be more effective as state governments are closer to the grassroots and can better assess local needs.

However, KACRAN highlighted the paramount importance of fairness and justice in the distribution process. The organization hailed Yobe State’s Governor Buni for setting a remarkable example by forming a diverse palliative distribution committee that encompasses members from various political parties, labor unions, media associations, legal bodies, disability advocates, and women’s groups.

Governor Buni, during the swearing-in ceremony of the distribution committee, stressed the impartiality and objectivity required to ensure that the palliatives reach every Yobe resident in need, without any form of discrimination.

KACRAN’s press release called on all Nigerian governors to follow Governor Buni’s lead and ensure that their respective distribution committees prioritize fairness, objectivity, and justice in delivering assistance to their citizens. This, they argue, is the only way to truly honor President Tinubu’s intent of alleviating the widespread suffering caused by the oil subsidy removal.

The statement also expressed gratitude and admiration for Deputy Governor Hon Idi Barde Gubana and Secretary to the State Government Alh Baba Malam Wali mni for their dedication to carrying out the distribution directives set forth by Governor Buni.

As the nation grapples with the challenges stemming from the subsidy removal, the call by KACRAN stands as a reminder that unity, fairness, and compassion are essential to ensuring that relief efforts effectively reach those who need them the most.
